ABOUT JINGWEN YANG
Jingwen Yang is a distinguished pianist, chamber musician, and adjudicator. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Penn State University under the mentorship of Dr. Timothy Shafer, she also serves as the Vice President and Event Planner of the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Chapter, as well as a Piano Instructor at Penn State University.
Jingwen has studied with renowned pianists such as Daniel Shapiro, Jeffrey Swann, Steinway Artist Steven Mayer, and Dr. Shafer, who is a second-generation disciple of legendary pianists Arthur Rubinstein and Maurizio Pollini.
Throughout her career, Jingwen has achieved significant success in numerous prestigious international competitions, earning prizes at the Debussy International Music Competition, Georges Bizet International Music Competition, Vivaldi International Music Competition, Penn State Concerto Competition, and the Sarah Manion Award for Excellence in Piano.
In addition to her competitive achievements, Jingwen has garnered widespread recognition through media appearances, including a feature interview with VoyageLA Magazine. She has performed in prominent venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall and Klavierhaus Hall in New York, Teatro Curci in Italy, Hamilton Recital Hall in Colorado, and David H. Stull Recital Hall in Oberlin.
Jingwen has also participated in renowned international piano festivals, such as the Vienna Academy of Music-Shenzhen International Summer Music Festival, Shanghai International Music Festival, Cooper Piano Festival, and the International Keyboard Institute & Festival.
Jingwen’s extensive global performance experience and teaching appointments solidify her status as a highly sought-after pianist and pedagogue of exceptional ability, making significant contributions to the field of piano performance. Her talent and international recognition within the piano world are indisputable.
